A HISTORY OF AUTHENTICITY SINCE THE 1980s

The Nadorcott mandarin tree was discovered in Morocco in the 1980s in the collections of INRA (National Institute for Agronomic Research), then selected and isolated by Les Domaines Agricoles in the 1990s

This mandarin tree comes from a natural hybridization of the Murcott mandarin tree (mandarin tree x orange tree).

Nadorcott is produced in 100% isolated and regularly checked orchards

This isolation...

Ensures the natural self-sterility of the fruit,
Prevents cross-pollination by other citrus varieties,
And therefore avoid having a high content of pips in the fruits, without genetic manipulation!

Morocco is also one of the few countries that preserves this characteristic obtained naturally and without genetic manipulation.

After analyzing and implementing the conditions for harmonious development, Les Domaines Agricoles initiated the creation of the APNM in 2008. Since then, (1) areas isolated by Ministerial Order have been reserved exclusively for the Nadorcott variety (2 ) licenses were issued according to a quota scrupulously controlled by the Board of Directors of the APNM. Thus the procedures put in place have allowed an optimal development of the variety in Morocco while preserving the balance of the marketing and sales markets.

The production of the Nadorcott mandarin takes place from January to the mid-April, Which allows marketing and sales from mid-January to mid-May. And therefore, a late availability on the stalls which differentiates it from other varieties of mandarin.

The Association of Nadorcott Producers in Morocco also has the mission of ensuring commercial development in Morocco but especially internationally.

This growth notably involves the implementation of actions and a strategy common to all the producers which aim to establish and increase the notoriety of the Moroccan mandarin Nadorcott and its label Morocco Nadorine Naturally Low Seed® through the world.
